The Ackerman Nature Preserve is on of the newest additions to the Fredericktown Recreation District. Formed in 2012, this area contains over 52 acres of wetland, farmland and wooded areas. This offers a unique place for visitors to stop and enjoy the diverse population of native and migratory birds in the area. A diverse population of buterflies and other insects can also be found thoughout the nature are. The Ackerman Nature Preserve is a great place for everyone from photographers to bird watchers to people just wanting take it all in to visit enjoy nature.
